A 1979 Ferrari 308 GTB presented with what the seller describes as "Magnum provenance" — a designation he applies based on the claim that the car's second owner "looked exactly like Tom Selleck."

"I can't prove it was him," the seller writes, in the listing's opening paragraph. "But I also can't prove it wasn't. The man had a mustache. He was in Hawaii. He drove this car. You do the math."

The math has not been done. No documentation of the previous owner's identity has been provided. The seller describes his confidence as "very high" and his evidence as "circumstantial but compelling."

The carbureted 3.0L V8 is described as "a symphony" that "rewards mechanical sympathy." The seller notes that the car "runs best when it knows you respect it," which is not a diagnostic metric but is, he insists, "real."

The car was imported from Italy in 1981 and has lived in Hawaii since 1986. The seller attributes the car's condition to "the aloha spirit" and "a previous owner who understood what he had, whether or not that owner was who I think he was."
