Listing Description
Seller described as "reluctant" for 14 consecutive years before finally listing. The reluctance did not affect the final price.
A 1992 Acura NSX that the seller spent 14 years describing as "not for sale" before listing it on Bring The Bids in what he characterized as "a moment of weakness I may come to regret."
He has come to regret it. He has emailed us three times since the auction closed to ask if the buyer would consider selling it back.
"Time capsule" is accurate. The car has 38,200 miles, all original paint, and a cassette tape of Steely Dan still in the factory stereo. The seller did not mention the Steely Dan tape in the listing. The buyer considers it a bonus.
The garage find designation refers to the seller's own garage, where the car has lived since 1994. The seller drove it occasionally, "only on special occasions," which he defines as "days when the weather was perfect and I felt the car deserved it." There were apparently not many such days.
The C30A VTEC V6 is described as "a masterpiece" by the seller and "a masterpiece" by 203 commenters. There is unusual consensus on this point.
The buyer paid $141,250. The seller watched the auction close from his phone in the driveway where the NSX used to live. He has since purchased a 2003 Civic as a "placeholder."
